The Launch of The First Operation To Transfer Empty Containers By Rail
In accordance with the instructions of the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Mr. Said SAYOUD, aimed at improving the performance of port facilities and enhancing their operational efficiency, the first operation for the rail transfer of empty containers was launched on Sunday, January 25, 2026, from the “LALLELIK” logistics area, located 5 kilometers away, towards the port of Annaba.
This important operation was carried out under the supervision of Mr. Abdelkrim LAAMOURI, Wali of Annaba, and is expected to have a direct and positive impact on reducing logistical costs for economic operators, in addition to diversify transport logistics modes, which will help increasing the rate of container exit from the port.
In this context, it is expected that the number of trips will later be doubled to reach ten trips per day between the port of Annaba and the “LALLELIK” logistics area.
