Annaba Port Welcomes the First Passenger Ferry of The 2026 Summer Season
In line with the directives of the country's highest authorities aimed at providing the best possible conditions for welcoming members of the Algerian community residing abroad upon their return home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality public services, and implementing the instructions of the Minister of Transport, Mr. Saïd SAYOUD, regarding the preparation of optimal reception conditions for the national community, as well as enhancing coordination among all stakeholders operating within the port sector to facilitate and expedite the processing of passengers and vehicles, and in accordance with the operational guidance of the Port Services Group "SERPORT" the Port of Annaba received and processed the first passenger ferry of the 2026 summer season on Friday, 10 July 2026.
The vessel "ELDJAZAIR II" berthed at the Port of Annaba at 11:55 a.m, arriving from Marseille, carrying 715 passengers and 294 vehicles. Passenger and vehicle processing was carried out under well-organized conditions through effective coordination among all relevant authorities, particularly the Maritime Border Police and Customs Administration, ensuring smooth procedures, rapid processing, and the provision of appropriate reception and comfort services for travelers, especially members of the Algerian community living abroad.
The "ELDJAZAIR II" departed the Port of Annaba at approximately 4:00 p.m. on the same day, bound for Marseille, carrying 76 passengers and 43 vehicles, after all departure and border clearance formalities had been completed under optimal conditions.
Annaba Port reaffirms its readiness, through its new passenger terminal, to ensure the success of the 2026 summer season and to continue improving the quality of services provided to travelers by strengthening coordination among all stakeholders and offering reception conditions that meet the expectations of citizens and members of the Algerian community abroad.
