Summer Season 2026: The Port of Annaba Welcomes, Once Again, the Passenger Ferry “El Djazair II”
In line with the directives of the country's highest authorities aimed at providing the best possible reception for members of the Algerian community living abroad during the summer season, and in implementation of the instructions of the Minister of Transport, Mr. Saïd SAYOUD, to enhance the quality of passenger services and strengthen coordination among all stakeholders at maritime passenger terminals to ensure the smooth and efficient processing of passengers and vehicles, as well as pursuant to the operational guidelines issued by the "SERPORT" Port Services Group, the Port of Annaba welcomed the passenger ferry "ELDJAZAIR 2" on Friday, 17 July 2026, as part of its Summer 2026 operational programme.
The ferry "ELDJAZAIR 2" docked at Berth No. 2/1 of the Port of Annaba at 12:38 p.m., arriving from Marseille, France, with 600 passengers and 283 vehicles on board. Passenger and vehicle processing was carried out under well-organized conditions, thanks to the close coordination between all the authorities and services involved, particularly the Maritime Border Police and Customs Administration. This coordinated effort ensured smooth traffic flow, expedited border procedures, and provided passengers—especially members of the Algerian community residing abroad—with efficient, comfortable, and high-quality reception services.
For the return voyage, "ELDJAZAIR 2" departed the Port of Annaba at approximately 4:00 p.m. bound for Marseille, carrying 53 passengers and 28 vehicles, after all departure formalities had been completed smoothly and efficiently.
Through its new passenger terminal, the Port of Annaba continues to demonstrate its commitment to the success of the 2026 summer season by mobilizing all the necessary human and material resources and reinforcing coordination among all stakeholders to deliver a modern, high-quality public service that meets the expectations of passengers and the Algerian community living abroad.
