Passenger Ferry “GNV CRISTAL” Docks Again at the Port of Annaba
According to the directives of the country’s highest authorities aimed at ensuring the best possible conditions for welcoming and assisting members of the Algerian diaspora living abroad during the 2026 summer season, and in accordance with the instructions of the Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Mr. Saïd SAYOUD, aimed at improving the quality of services provided to passengers and strengthening coordination among the various stakeholders at maritime terminals to ensure smooth passenger and vehicle traffic and efficient procedures, and based on the field directives of the Port Services Group “SERPORT” the Port of Annaba once again welcomed the passenger ferry “GNV CRISTAL” ON Wednesday, August 19, 2026, arriving from Civitavecchia-Italia.
This docking is part of the regular maritime service schedule established for August and September 2026, which includes nine ferry crossings connecting the cities of Annaba and Civitavecchia, thereby contributing to strengthen maritime connectivity between the two countries and supporting the diversification and expansion of passenger maritime transport services, particularly during the summer season.
The vessel docked at Berth N° 01/02 at 10:57 a.m., carrying 160 passengers and 79 vehicles. The reception and processing of passengers and vehicles took place under good organizational conditions, thanks to effective coordination and cooperation among the various authorities and services involved, particularly the Maritime Border Police, Customs services, and Annaba's Port Company, in addition to the various partners and stakeholders. This contributed to ensure smooth passenger and vehicle traffic, facilitating inspection and crossing procedures, and providing safe and comfortable reception conditions.
On its return, the “GNV CRISTAL” departed the Port of Annaba at approximately 3:19 p.m., heading toward the Italian city of Civitavecchia, carrying 133 passengers and 42 vehicles, after completing all procedures related to crossing and departure under good conditions. This reflected the readiness of the various services and stakeholders and the effectiveness of coordination among them.
Through its maritime terminal, the Port of Annaba continues to demonstrate its commitment to the success of the 2026 summer season by mobilizing its human and material resources and strengthening coordination and cooperation among the various authorities, services, and partners. The aim is to provide a modern public service based on quality, efficiency, speed, and a warm welcome, while meeting the expectations of passengers and members of the Algerian diaspora living abroad.
