The “GNV CRISTAL” Ferry Docks Again at the Port of Annaba
According to the instructions of the country’s highest authorities aimed at ensuring the best possible reception and assistance conditions for members of the national community residing abroad during the 2026 summer season, and in execution of the instructions of the Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Mr. Saïd SAYOUD, aimed at improving the level of services provided to passengers and strengthening coordination among the various stakeholders at maritime terminals, in order to ensure the smooth movement of passengers and vehicles as well as the efficiency of procedures, and in accordance with the operational directives of the “SERPORT” Group, the Port of Annaba once again welcomed the “GNV CRISTAL” Car Ferry on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, arriving from Civitavecchia-Italy.
This port call is part of the regular maritime service schedule planned for August and September 2026, comprising nine (09) crossings between Annaba and Civitavecchia, thereby strengthening the maritime link between Algeria and Italy and contributing to the development of passenger maritime transport services.
The vessel docked at Berth No. (01/02) at approximately 10:47 a.m., carrying 130 passengers and 51 vehicles. The various reception and processing operations were carried out under good organizational conditions, reflecting the level of preparedness and coordination among the various services and agencies involved, notably the Maritime Border Police, Customs Services, the services of Annaba Port Company and various partners and stakeholders.
The close coordination among these services ensured the smooth movement of passengers and vehicles and facilitated inspection and transit procedures, thereby providing passengers with safe and comfortable conditions.
Following the completion of the return procedures, the “GNV CRISTAL” departed Annaba Port at approximately 3:33 p.m., heading for Civitavecchia-Italy, carrying 441 passengers and 146 vehicles, after the various transit and departure procedures had been completed under good conditions. This reflected the readiness of the various services and the effectiveness of their coordination and complementarity.
This operation demonstrates the commitment of Annaba Port Company, through its maritime terminal, to continue its role in the success of 2026 summer season by mobilizing the necessary human and material resources and strengthening coordination and cooperation among the various agencies, services, and partners, in order to provide a modern public service based on quality, efficiency, speed, and a welcoming approach, meeting passengers expectations, particularly members of the national community residing abroad.
Through this momentum, the Port of Annaba reaffirms its position as a vital maritime gateway and a public institution contributing to the strengthening of communication links between Algeria and its national community members, as well as to the consolidation of maritime connections between Algeria and its Mediterranean partners.
