Annaba Port Company Intensifies Its Cleaning, Sanitation and Port Area Development Efforts and Strengthens Fire Prevention Measures
As part of the implementation of the instructions issued by Mr. Saïd SAYOUD, Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, aimed at raising the standards of Algerian ports, improving their environment and strengthening their state of preparedness, and in execution of the operational directives of Mr. Ali BOULARES, Chief Executive Officer of the Port Services Group “SERPORT”, Annaba Port Company has intensified its field efforts to enhance the cleanliness and maintenance of the port area and improve its overall appearance.
These efforts are particularly important during the summer season, which requires increased preventive and vigilance measures, notably to reduce the risk of fire outbreaks.
In this context, the company organized, on Thursday , August 27, 2026, starting at 9:30 p.m., a large-scale cleaning, sanitation, marking and painting campaign, in coordination with the various relevant services and organizations, as part of an integrated field program for the maintenance of port areas and facilities and the strengthening of prevention and safety conditions.
The operation covered various parts of the port area, including quays, roads, facilities and port spaces. A series of field interventions was carried out to improve cleanliness and organization through the remarking of operational areas and the delineation of traffic routes and work zones. These measures contribute to organizing the movement of machinery and vehicles and strengthening safety conditions within the port premises.
The operation also included the removal of various elements that could constitute potential sources of danger, particularly weeds, waste and flammable residues. This helps reduce the causes of fire outbreaks and maintain the operational readiness of the facilities, thereby ensuring the continuity of activities under the best possible conditions.
The company mobilized the necessary human and material resources for this operation, enabling it to be carried out under optimal conditions, improving the overall appearance of the port area and preserving its operational readiness. It also contributed to providing a clean, safe and healthy working environment for employees, economic operators and all port users.
This operation is part of the ongoing efforts undertaken by Annaba Port Company to maintain the port area, preserve its cleanliness and ensure its proper development, promote a culture of cleanliness and prevention, and strengthen safety and environmental protection measures. These efforts are particularly important given the specific conditions of the summer season, the rise in temperatures and the associated increase in fire risks.
