Port of Annaba Handles Simultaneously Two Vessels Exporting More Than 38,000 Tons of White Cement
In implementation of the instructions of the Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Mr. Saïd SAYOUD, aimed at improving the performance and efficiency of Algeria's national ports, modernizing their services, and strengthening on-the-ground support for economic operators—particularly those engaged in non-hydrocarbon exports, and in line with the operational directives of the SERPORT Group, Annaba’s Port continues to reaffirm its pivotal role in supporting national exports and enhancing the competitiveness of Algerian products in international markets.
In this context, the Port of Annaba has simultaneously handling two vessels at Berths No. 06 and No. 07, demonstrating its operational and organizational capabilities to ensure the smooth flow of loading operations and reduce vessel turnaround time. This performance is supported by a continuous operating schedule of 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in line with the economic momentum currently driving Algeria's ports, particularly in the field of non-hydrocarbon exports.
On Saturday, 27 June 2026, the Port of Annaba received the PAIWAN WISDOM, which docked at Berth No. 07 to load 30,500 tonnes of white cement, packed in Big Bags, on behalf of SBC (Biskria Cement Company). The shipment is destined for the United States Of America, specifically the ports of Philadelphia and West Palm Beach.
The loading operations continued aboard the LUCITA, which arrived at Annaba Port on Sunday, 28 June 2026, and docked at Berth No. 06 to load 7,800 tonnes of white cement, also packed in Big Bags, on behalf of SBC (Biskria Cement Company). This shipment is destined for the Port of Almería, Spain, further illustrating the port's ability to efficiently and effectively handle two vessels simultaneously.
Annaba Port has mobilized all its human, logistical, and technical resources to ensure the successful execution of both operations. Through close coordination with all stakeholders involved in the port logistics chain, the port has ensured the smooth flow of loading activities, accelerated cargo handling, and delivered high-quality port services that meet international standards.
As a result, the total volume exported through the Port of Annaba during these two operations amounts to 38,300 tonnes of white cement, reflecting the port's sustained momentum in supporting exporters and promoting non-hydrocarbon exports.
These simultaneous export operations demonstrate the Port of Annaba's readiness, the efficiency of its workforce and logistics capabilities, and its ability to provide modern and effective port services that meet the requirements of international maritime trade. This contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of Algerian products and creating new opportunities for Algerian exporters.
Through this continued momentum, the Port of Annaba reaffirms its full commitment to support the national policy of diversifying exports beyond the hydrocarbon sector, promoting Algerian products, and strengthening the strategic role of Algeria's ports as key drivers of the national economy. This approach is fully aligned with the country's objectives of achieving sustainable economic development and reinforcing the presence of Algerian products in global markets.
