Public Domain Management

The Port enterprise of Annaba ensures the following:

  • The management of the Port Public Domain and its corollary.
  • The exercise of police and security operations related to shipping movement, particularly Piloting and Mooring (line handling).
  • *The preservation, safeguarding, and development of the said port public domain.

The Port Public Domain is composed of infrastructures, superstructures, and dependencies encumbered with easements for the benefit of maritime traffic and the development of the Ports. It consists of:

A- Installations and Equipment:

  • Quay fenders and bollards necessary for the berthing of vessels.
  • Maritime terminal for the disembarkation/embarkation of passengers.
  • Silos, port warehouses, and weighbridges used for the reception, storage, and weighing of goods.

B- Platforms (Quay aprons) and commercial surfaces for goods storage, source of domain fees/royalties.

C- The Various networks (Drinking Water,Electrical Energy, Sanitation, etc.), railway, and roads.


Handling and Stevedoring

The Handling Department provides services relating to the loading and unloading operations of ships and the stevedoring of goods.

“Stevedoring” includes operations aimed at ensuring the reception, checking and reconnaissance on land of goods loaded or unloaded as well as guarding, until they are loaded or delivered to the recipient.

These services are provided under the general conditions set out in the price list.

- The current working hours are:

  • First Shift: 7:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m
  • Second Shift: 1:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m
  • Third Shift (Overtime): 7:00 p.m to 1:00 a.m

For handling, Fridays and public holidays are also subject to a 100% increase.


PILOTAGE, TUGGING AND MOORING:

The tugging service provides technical assistance to ships entering and leaving the port, in the roadstead, at the dock, or moving within the port, as well as refueling services.

The towing service operates continuously (24 hours a day), including holidays.

Tugging is compulsory on all vessels with a gross tonnage greater than or equal to 1500 Tx “Maritime Code”


MARINE EQUIPMENT:

  • Six (06) Tugs from 1000 to 4120 HP
  • Three (03) Pilot boats from 560 to 1430 HP
  • Three (03) Mooring boats from 156 to 158 HP
  • An anti-pollution machine 'LAKLAK' of 55 Km
  • An anti-pollution floating boom of 2×250 m.

ANNABA'S PORT COMPANY PROVIDES OTHER SERVICES SUCH AS:

  • Supplying ships with fresh water.
  • Electric power.
  • Speedboat rental.
  • Securing cargo.
  • Waste removal.
