Passenger Ferry "Tassili 2" Docks at the Port of Annaba
According to the directives issued by the country's highest authorities to ensure the best reception conditions for members of the Algerian community living abroad during the 2026 summer season, and in accordance with the instructions of the Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Mr. Saïd SAYOUD, aimed at improving the quality of services provided to travelers and strengthening coordination among all stakeholders at maritime terminals to ensure smooth traffic flow and the rapid processing of passengers and vehicles, and in line with the operational directives of the Port Services Group (SERPORT), the Port of Annaba welcomed the passenger ferry "Tassili 2" on Monday, 3 August 2026, as part of the scheduled 2026 summer season program.
The vessel docked at Berth (01/02) at 2:55 p.m., arriving from Marseille, France, carrying 473 passengers and 276 vehicles. Passenger reception and transit operations were conducted under well-organized conditions thanks to the effective coordination between all the relevant authorities and services, particularly the Maritime Border Police, Customs Administration and Annaba’s Port services. This cooperation ensured the smooth flow of traffic, accelerated inspection and clearance procedures, and provided comfortable and secure reception conditions, especially for members of the Algerian community residing abroad.
The maritime passenger terminal of Annaba Port also witnessed the launch of an information and awareness campaign by the National Social Insurance Fund for Salaried Workers (CNAS) and the National Retirement Fund (CNR), with the following objectives:
- Enhancing reception services: Ensuring a high-quality and optimal welcome for Algerian nationals returning from abroad.
- Guidance and information: Providing comprehensive information and clear guidance on the digital and administrative services and facilities offered by both institutions.
- Effective communication: Listening to travelers concerns and responding directly to their inquiries, in line with the principle of bringing public services closer to citizens and improving the quality of service delivery.
On the return voyage, the ferry "Tassili 2" departed the Port of Annaba at approximately 6:38 p.m, bound for Marseille, carrying 310 passengers and 152 vehicles. Departure procedures were completed smoothly and efficiently, reflecting the preparedness of all stakeholders and the effectiveness of their coordination.
Through its new passenger terminal, the Port of Annaba continues to reaffirm its commitment to the success of the 2026 summer season by mobilizing all necessary human and material resources and strengthening coordination among all partners. This approach ensures the delivery of a modern public service based on quality, efficiency, and excellent customer reception, meeting the expectations of travelers and members of the Algerian community living abroad.
