Passenger Ferry “GNV CRISTAL” Docks at Annaba Port, Marking the Launch of a Regular Maritime Route Civitavecchia (Italy)- Annaba
As part of the implementation of the directives of the country’s highest authorities aimed at ensuring the best possible reception conditions for members of the Algerian community residing abroad during the 2026 summer season, and in accordance with the instructions of the Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Mr. Saïd SAYOUD, regarding the improvement of the quality of services provided to passengers and the strengthening of coordination among the various stakeholders operating at maritime terminals to ensure smooth passenger and vehicle flows and efficient procedures, and pursuant to the field directives of the “SERPORT”, Annaba Port received on, Sunday, August 9, 2026, the passenger ferry “GNV CRISTAL”, arriving from the Italian city of Civitavecchia.
This docking marks the inaugural call of a regular maritime passenger route linking the city of Annaba with the Italian city of Civitavecchia. The scheduled program includes nine regular sailings during August and September 2026, further strengthening maritime connectivity between the two cities and contributing to the diversification and expansion of passenger maritime transport services during the summer season.
The vessel docked at Berth 01/02 at 9:55 a.m., carrying 84 passengers and 30 vehicles. Passenger and vehicle reception and processing operations were carried out under good organizational conditions, thanks to effective coordination among the various authorities and services involved, particularly the Maritime Border Police, Customs services, Annaba Port authorities, as well as other partners and stakeholders. This coordination contributed to ensuring smooth traffic flow, facilitating inspection and border-crossing procedures, and providing passengers with safe and comfortable reception conditions.
On its return, the “GNV CRISTAL” departed Annaba Port at approximately 3:10 p.m., heading for Civitavecchia, Italy, carrying 20 passengers and 7 vehicles, after all necessary procedures had been completed under satisfactory conditions. This demonstrated the readiness of the various stakeholders and the effectiveness of their coordination.
Through its maritime terminal, Annaba Port continues to demonstrate its commitment to the successful implementation of the 2026 summer season, by mobilizing all necessary human and material resources and strengthening coordination among the various services, authorities, and partners. The objective is to provide a modern public service based on quality, efficiency, speed, and a well welcome, while meeting the expectations of passengers and members of the Algerian community residing abroad.
