Fire Simulation Exercise at Annaba Port Annaba Port Company Organizes a Fire Simulation Exercise at the Harbour Master’s Office Building
In line with the instructions of Mr. Saïd SAYOUD, Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, aimed at strengthening prevention, safety and security measures at national ports and enhancing the level of preparedness and readiness to respond to various potential risks and incidents, and in line with the operational directives of Mr. BOULARES Ali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Port Services Group “SERPORT”, the Health and Safety Unit of Annaba Port Enterprise organized, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, a fire simulation exercise at the Harbour Master’s Office building.
This exercise was carried out as part of the annual simulation exercise programme established by Annaba Port Enterprise, in coordination with the various stakeholders and parties involved in port operations. The exercise aimed to assess the preparedness of the services concerned to respond to emergency situations, evaluate the effectiveness of intervention plans, and strengthen coordination and cooperation among the various parties involved.
The exercise scenario involved a simulated fire caused by an electrical spark at the Harbour Master’s Office building. It covered the various stages of the response, from reporting the incident and activating the emergency alert procedures, through the intervention of the relevant and competent services, to the treatment of injured persons and the containment of the fire during its initial stages. The objective was to minimize potential losses and ensure the protection of people and property.
The exercise also provided an opportunity to test the effectiveness of communication and reporting channels, assess the response time of the various services, and identify areas requiring further improvement and development.
The exercise concluded with an on-site evaluation meeting dedicated to reviewing and discussing the various stages of the operation, assessing the performance of the personnel involved, and formulating a set of practical measures and recommendations aimed at enhancing preparedness and response to this type of risk.
