Berthing of Two Car Ferries at the Ferry Terminal of Annaba Port
According to the instructions of the country’s highest authorities aimed at providing the best organizational conditions and necessary facilities for members of the national community, and in execution of the instructions of Mr. Saïd SAYOUD, Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, aimed at ensuring the best possible conditions at ports and improving the quality of services provided to passengers, as well as in accordance with the operational directives of the Port Services Group “SERPORT,” the maritime terminal of the Port of Annaba welcomed two car ferries on Sunday, September 6, 2026, namely the “GNV CRISTAL” and the “EL DJAZAÏR II.”
The “GNV CRISTAL” docked at the maritime terminal at 10:55 a.m., arriving from the city of Civitavecchia, with 114 passengers and 71 vehicles on board. It subsequently departed at 2:57 p.m. for Civitavecchia, carrying 229 passengers and 96 vehicles.
The “EL DJAZAÏR II,” meanwhile, docked at the maritime terminal at 4:15 p.m., arriving from the city of Marseille, with 126 passengers and 88 vehicles on board. It departed at 8:55 p.m. for Marseille, carrying 637 passengers and 283 vehicles, following the completion of all applicable legal and regulatory procedures.
The various operations involving the reception and assistance of passengers, as well as the handling of vehicles from both vessels, were carried out under good organizational conditions, thanks to the coordination and complementarity among the various services and agencies involved, notably the Annaba Port Company, the Maritime Border Police, the Customs Services, and the various concerned partners and stakeholders. This contributed to ensuring smooth entry and departure operations and facilitating the movement of passengers and vehicles.
This activity also highlights the level of preparedness and coordination among the various stakeholders, as well as their shared commitment to ensuring high-quality services and the smooth movement of passengers and vehicles, while complying with all applicable security, legal, and regulatory procedures.
