Annaba Port Strengthens Its Role in Supporting Strategic Projects and National Exports
In line with the orientations of the Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Mr. Saïd SAYOUD, aimed at supporting national strategic projects and strengthening commercial and export activities through the country’s ports, and in accordance with the directives of the Port Services Group “SERPORT”, Annaba Port witnessed, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, two major operations reflecting the diversity of port activities and its role in supporting the national economy.
As part of its contribution to the implementation of national strategic projects, Annaba Port received a major shipment intended to support construction works for the Eastern Mining Railway Line project, particularly the section connecting Bouchegouf and Draâ Erriche, extending over a distance of 121 km.
The shipment arrived aboard the vessel “SAFE COURSE”, which berthed at Quay No. 07, with a total cargo of 13,429.210 tonnes, for the benefit of CHINA ROAD BRIDGE CORPORATION. The shipment consisted of various equipment and materials intended to contribute to the implementation of this strategic project.
At the same time, the port handled a major export operation for BISKRIA CIMENT, involving the loading of 22,000 tonnes of white cement packed in Big Bags aboard the vessel “MV DIMITRA”, which berthed at Quay No. 09. The cargo is destined for the Republic of Guatemala.
For both operations, Annaba Port Company mobilized its various human and material resources, as well as the necessary organizational and logistical means, in order to ensure optimal handling of the vessels and cargoes and the smooth execution of unloading, loading and cargo-handling operations under the best possible operational conditions.
These two operations once again confirm the central role of Annaba Port as an active logistics and commercial platform serving the national economy and supporting the country’s development process.
