Extension of the “MELLAHA” Clearance Area operated by Annaba Port Company

Extension of the “MELLAHA” Clearance Area operated by Annaba Port Company

In accordance with the instructions of Mr. Saïd SAYOUD, Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, aimed at pursuing the modernization process of national ports and creating better conditions for cargo handling and the release of areas within the port domain, and in line with the field-oriented directives of the Port Services Group “SERPORT”, Annaba Port Company commenced, on Sunday, September 27, 2026, extension works for the “MELLAHA” clearance area, through the use of an additional area estimated at 1.82 hectares.

This extension will enhance the area’s capacity for receiving and storing goods, while providing additional space for various operations related to port activities.

This operation is particularly important for improving cargo traffic flow, optimizing the use of port areas, and freeing up certain spaces allocated to commercial and cargo-handling operations. It will therefore contribute to strengthen operational efficiency and improve cargo-handling conditions.

The operation is also expected to have a positive impact on the quality of services provided to economic operators by making suitable and flexible spaces available for their activities, while enhancing the port’s capacity to meet the requirements of commercial traffic and the growing volume of trade.

The development works for the extension area are expected to be completed as soon as possible. Once the works are finalized, the additional area will also be allocated to vehicle import operations, thereby contributing to better organization of this activity and providing additional space to ensure that it is handled under appropriate conditions
