Significant Progress in Port Infrastructure Development Works at Annaba Port
In accordance with the instructions of Mr. Saïd SAYOUD, Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, aimed at modernizing national ports, improving their readiness, enhancing their operational efficiency, and raising the level of services provided to economic operators, and in line with the field directives of the Port Services Group “SERPORT”, development and modernization works on several port facilities are progressing at an advanced pace at Annaba Port. These projects contribute to optimizing the use of port areas and enhancing the smooth flow of port operations.
- Development of Berth No. 02 and Its Landside Area
Monday, September 28, 2026, concrete pouring operations commenced as part of the development works for Berth No. 02, alongside an acceleration in the pace of works carried out by COSIDER TP. The project has now reached 76% completion.
This project is of particular importance given the strategic location of Berth No. 02, which serves as a vital link between the northern and southern areas of Annaba Port. The project is expected to facilitate cargo movement and strengthen the port’s operational capacity.
- Demolition of the Old Power Plant and Recovery of Additional Space
As part of the development and optimization of port areas, the demolition works of the old power plant are also progressing at a very advanced pace, with the project having reached 70% completion.
This operation will make it possible to recover significant additional space within the port area and repurpose it to support port activities. It will also contribute to improving traffic organization and enhancing the smooth flow of cargo and container-handling operations These projects form part of the ongoing modernization and development efforts at Annaba Port, aimed at strengthening its readiness to keep pace with the growth of port activities and meeting the evolving requirements of economic operators.
